About laser cut Birch Plywood

Cut edge

Birch plywood cuts with a dark brown/black edge. The thicker the plywood the darker the edge will be. Some light sanding can change the colour tone of the cut to achieve the desired look.

Laser cutting

When laser cutting birch plywood there can sometimes be scorching marks due to the heat of the laser. We have optimised our cutting
technique to minimise these issues.

Laser engraving

Laser engraving is a very shallow surface scratching. Engraving birch plywood at 0.8 – 1.5mm results with a black/brown tone, engraving at 0.3 – 9mm results as a more orange/ brown tone. Each sheet of plywood can vary.

Vector engraving

Vector engraving/cutting is recommended for line and text as it will not lose resolution.

Raster engraving

Raster engraving is calculated through pixels. We recommend that you get the highest resolution image you can for the best results.
